DigiTimes reports that Apple’s manufacturing partners in Taiwan are said to be bending over backwards to secure orders for the company’s latest devices by constructing specialized plants that will be dedicated to producing parts and components for the iPad mini and the next-generation iPhone.

Admittedly this isn’t as farfetched as some of DigiTime’s most recent rumors. But it might be worth taking this one with a pinch of salt, too.

According to the Taiwanese newspaper, manufacturers such as Catcher Technology, Taiwan Surface Mount Technology (TSMT), Radiant, and Coretronic are all planning to build manufacturing plants that will be dedicated to producing Apple’s upcoming iOS devices — namely the 7.85-inch iPad, and the next-generation iPhone — to cope with their continuous growth.

Sources said that Apple’s sales will continue to bring increasing operations and profits for Taiwanese manufacturers in the latter half of this year as the company starts to put out its new products.

While those sources did not disclose what those “new products” may be, we’re expecting to see the Cupertino company’s sixth-generation iPhone and possibly a smaller iPad — which is currently being dubbed the “iPad mini.” We may also see that long-awaited Apple HDTV, but some analysts believe it will be some time before the set actually makes it to market.
