Picle, the photo/audio hybrid app launched a month ago at SxSW (and reviewed by us here), just got updated with some cool new features, the best of which is converting Picles to movies.
In case you’ve forgotten, a Picle is a still photo with a snippet of attached audio, recorded immediately after the shutter took the picture.
The Picle app lets you link stills together as a story, which turns out to be a really cool way of recording a day out or a special event. Until now, Picles and stories could only be shared with other Picle users on the Picle website, which you had to sign up for.
But no longer: now you can export your Picles, or Picle stories, as movies saved to your Camera Roll. From there it’s easy to throw them on YouTube, or wherever else you like sticking movies.
Here’s one made by one of the Picle team:
When first launched, Picle was a bare essentials app and suffered a few frustrating performance issues. But since then a series of updates have added new features and zapped bugs, and I’m delighted to say that the new Picle is a huge improvement.
If you’re tired of Facebookgram and want to inject some new life into your photos, Picle is worth trying.
