Get A Handle on Power Use with Battery Magic [iOS Tips]

Most days, our iPhones sit in our pockets, not seeing too much use, maybe a phone call here, a tweet or text there. Then there are the days where we’re on Facebook all lunchbreak, playing games on the train both ways to and from work, and then watching a little Netflix while cooking dinner. You know, a heavy use day. There are a kajillion power managers out there, but this one seems to have enough cool features that we thought we’d pass it along to you as today’s iOS tip.

Battery Magic, by the cleverly named myNewApps.com, promises to let you see your battery usage in several interesting ways, like the time you have left for playing 3D games, talking on the phone, using WiFi or 3G, and the time it will take to recharge the battery fully. This is exactly the type of real-world info most of us need when trying to figure out whether to launch the latest Epic game or just check a quick email via home WiFi.

Our tips aren’t app reviews, of course, but this seems pretty handy to have. I myself, right now, have about 1 hour and 20 min of 3D Game Play available, or I could use the 3G Internet for another 4 hours and 48 minutes. Hmmm. See you in an hour, I suppose.

Battery Magic is free, add supported, and the color of the battery graphic is customizable. The company has a paid battery app, as well, named Battery Magic Elite, which goes for US $0.99.
