Microsoft has released an iPad version of its popular OneNote app. The note-taking app is available in the App Store for free with limited functionality. A $14.99 in-app purchase unlocks the ability to take an unlimited number of notes, while free users are limited to 500.

iPad users must be running iOS 4.3 or higher and have a Windows Live ID to use the OneNote app. Microsoft notes that the new release also includes better language support, a tabbed user interface, quick note creation, table rendering, an improved sign-in experience, the option to sync only over Wi-Fi, and the in-app upgrade option.
The iPhone version of OneNote is also available for free in the App Store with a $4.99 in-app purchase to unlock full functionality.
