I think I mentioned in a previous post that I have a worrying addition to Call of Duty, and I love having the opportunity to get my fix on iOS when I’m away from home. I’m a huge fan of Call of Duty: Zombies, which has been available for the iPhone and the iPad for some time. But now it has a successor called Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies… and it’s awesome.

The new title boasts the same kind of zombies experience as the last, but it features a number of fantastic improvements that make it a must-have for any Call of Duty fan. Players have the option to go solo, or join a team of up to 4 players, with all-new voice chat for the first time ever that will allow you to hear your teammates scream for help while they have their limbs chewed by the living dead.

The game features loads of weapons and perks that you’ll be familiar with from the Call of Duty: Black Ops console release, in addition to new maps and an brand new user interface.

What makes this release really worth its $6.99 price tag, however, is the introduction of the Dead-Ops Arcade. This is a game that you can find hidden in the Black Ops console release, and it’s an arcade-style top-down shooter that features 50 levels of insane zombie warfare.

Unlike its predecessor, this game is optimized for Retina display devices. It’s also a universal app so you’ll only have to pay $5.99 once to play the game on both your iPhone/iPod touch and your iPad.

I would love to see Activision release a regular Call of Duty game for iOS, rather than just the zombie mode. But I’ve already been playing this game this morning and I love it.
