Apple Snatches A Bunch Of iPhone-Related Porn Domains

Apple has snatched up several iPhone-related porn URLs from a domain squatter. The sites in question were handed over to Apple after the company filed a complaint a few weeks ago.

The high profile domains, including iPhone4S.com, have been given over to Apple from the previous owner.

Domain Name Wire reports:

Apple is now the proud owner of iphonesex4s.com and six other (mostly) explicit domain names.

The company filed a complaint with World Intellectual Property Forum against the owner of the seven domain names last month. All of the domain names forwarded to a mobile porn site when visited on a mobile device.

Apple terminated the case after the owner of the domains agreed to turn the domain names over.

The 7 sites that Apple took control of are iphonecamforce.com, iphonecam4s.com, iphoneporn4s.com,  iphonesex4s.com, iphonexxxforce.com, iphone4s.com, and porn4iphones.com.

A word of warning: the above sites still forward to their previous pornographic destinations, as the DNS settings are likely still propagating to their new owner, a firm called MarkMonitor that is helping Apple manage these new domains quietly.

While we can image that Apple will forward iPhone4S.com to its Apple.com/iPhone webpage, we’re assuming that the other domains will be shut down.
