Apple Releases Xcode 4.2 Free Development Tools For Mac OS X Lion & Snow Leopard

Apple’s development tools for Mac OS X and iOS are joining the iOS 5 launch party today with the release of Xcode 4.2. The new version of Xcode is now available as a free download in the Mac App Store or through the regular Apple developer website.

So go get your free copy of Xcode 4.2 which supports Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and iOS 5 now via the Mac App Store or at Apple’s developer website.

    I tried but could not download. I am using Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and the app store still says it is for Mac OS X Lion 10.7, I hope they roll an update to this link. I also could not find in the developer web site a link to download it.

    Same here. Maybe Snow Leopard isn’t really supported, therefore wrong info.

    It specifically says its for 10.7 and up in the readme:

    Compatibility: Xcode 4 requires an Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X 10.7.0 Lion or later
