Among many other software releases, Apple issued an update to the Apple TV 2 today.

While the release can be included in the iOS 5-related slew of updates, this latest version actually brings the Apple TV to iOS 4.4. The update includes AirPlay mirroring for the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S, Photo Stream support, iTunes Move Trailers, NHL GameCenter, and Wall Street Journal Live.

Photo Stream on the Apple TV uses iCloud to wirelessly sync the camera roll from your iPhone or iPad to your Apple TV. Trailers works like the new App Store app to serve up HD trailers from iTunes. NHL GameCenter adds another paid sports subscription to the basketball and baseball options that Apple added in March. Wall Street Journal Live offers business commentary and financial analysis streamed to your Apple TV.

Apple also addressed some bugs and security vulnerabilities in this latest update.
