Contradicting an earlier news report that Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs is expected to attend Tuesday’s iPhone event, a technology blogger claims Jobs is “just not feeling well enough” to publicly appear.

Blogger Robert Scoble made the claim amid speculation over whether Jobs would attend the Tuesday event expected to unveil a new iPhone. Earlier Tuesday morning, Reuters reported the iconic former Apple head was “expected to attend” without mentioning any source for the claim. When Jobs retired as CEO, he said he would stay on as a member of the tech giant’s board of directors.

Although it’s unclear what role Jobs would play in the scheduled media event, tomorrow’s announcement will be the first time new CEO Tim Cook takes center stage. An appearance by Jobs could reassure investors the man who helped build Apple was still involved.
