My iPhone’s Got Wood And Yours Can Have It Too

Okay, my iPhone hasn’t really got wood, but it could have, thanks to JackBacks. JackBacks create real wooden backs for your iPhone 4 made from natural bamboo that are completely customizable, allowing you to choose a design that really sets your iPhone 4 apart.

The wooden piece isn’t just a case for your iPhone — it replaces the glass back on your device. JackBacks can create a personalized back from an image you upload for just $89 plus shipping, as long as it doesn’t include logos that have been trademarked.

Check out the JackBacks introductory video below:

Each case is laser cut and designed to fir your iPhone 4 perfectly. And they’re simply to install: you simply remove the two screws at the bottom of your iPhone and pop off the back, then replace it with your JackBack.

What do you think to customizing your iPhone with a JackBack?

What’s with the d-pad control looking design on the wood surface? Kind of looks like the original Nintendo controller. Not crazy about that but otherwise, beautiful.

Doesn’t Apple use propriety hexa-something screws to hold the front/back of the iPhone together? Call me naive, but can consumers easily find a wrench that fits these screws to install the wooden back?

I do like the look though.

really awesome I just got a $829.99 iPad2 for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HDTV for only $251.92, they are both coming with USPS tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prices at places like Walmart or Bestbuy. I sold a 37″ HDTV to my boss for $600 that I only paid $78.24 for. I use BidsNéw.com

Looks like the hole for the flash hasn’t been lined up well for the one in the image above, and we know from even big-name case manufacturers that is an issue. I know no one uses the flash but in a pinch I can at least take my case off. Just saying.
