Apple Hits Faux Resellers in U.S. with Lawsuit
Apple was granted a temporary restraining order for trademark infringement against several U.S. unauthorized resellers.
On July 25, Apple lawyers filed a complaint that named three companies in a lawsuit.
On Aug 4 — notably after the brouhaha over the cloned China stores — U.S. District Court Judge Kiyo Matsumoto granted a preliminary injunction against the defendants and issued a temporary restraining order.
Apple may have found out about two of the stores in Flushing, N.Y., one of them cleverly called “Apple Story” after they appeared on the same blog that outed the cloned stores in China.
Wonder Apple will start targeting unauthorized resellers outside the U.S., where, as we noted yesterday, faux Apple resellers are flourishing.
