Final Fantasy Tactics to Hit the App Store for iPhone This Thursday

After a series of lengthy delays, the re-release of Final Fantasy Tactics: The War Of The Lions from Square Enix is set to hit the App Store this Thursday, August 4. While its release will be a chance the Americans among us to reminisce, for those of us in Europe, it will be the first time we get the opportunity to experience this PlayStation classic.

Square Enix announce the release of Final Fantasy Tactics on its European blog earlier this week, announcing the game’s release on the iPhone this Thursday for £10.99 (approx. $15.99). While the game will be iPhone-only initially, the blog post promises that the same game will be available on the iPad “later this month.”

The game was first released in the U.S. on Sony’s PlayStation way back in 1998, however, it never made it over to Europe — making its iOS release the first time those of us across the Atlantic will enjoy the game. According to Square Enix, its remake features “improved graphics, a significantly improved script translation, beautiful animated cutscenes and extra features.”

This is HUGE news for the iOS gaming community and makes another case for the trend that the DS and PSP’s are dying off. If companies keep making games for iOS maybe we’ll start seeing more classic, old-school games for iOS.

I just paid $23.86 for an iPhone and my girlfriend loves her Dell laptop that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 42 inch LED TV to my boss for $665 which only cost me $62,81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, GrabPenny.com

The usual idea is that you would use NFC to set up the link between the two devices and then do an automatic hand over to a different protocol for doing the actual transfer of data – eg Bluetooth, iphone 5
