After a torrent of speculation surrounding the Apple’s fifth-generation iPhone in recent months — nearly all of which has offered the same launch date — it seems the iPhone 5 may not be arriving this September after all.
So, when can we expect the company to uncrate the iPhone 5?
“October,” the source said, while declining to offer a hard launch date. Other sources said it will be later in the month rather than earlier.
Now, you may choose to dismiss this rumor and continue to expect the iPhone 5 this September, however, MacRumors notes that AllThingsD is well connected with industry sources, and could therefore be receiving the most accurate information.
Of course, Apple may still announce the device in September — possibly at its annual iPod media event — but with a delay until its launch the following month.
This is pretty disappointing news to those of you who have been eagerly anticipating the launch of the device next month, especially after its expected refresh came and went with WWDC back in June. But what’s another month? And if those iPhone 5 case leaks are anything to go by, it could be well worth the wait.
