AT&T Makes International Data Roaming Slightly Less Extortionate
Do a lot of international traveling and like to bring your iPhone with you? AT&T just made their international data plans a lot more affordable. Don’t get too excited, though: when you’re talking international roaming, “more affordable” still equals “pretty darn extortive.”
Here’s the new International Data plans.
$24.99 gets you 50MB (previously 20MB)
– $49.99 gets you 125MB (previously 50MB)
– $99.99 gets you 275MB (previously 100MB)
– $199.99 gets you 800MB (previously 200MB)
– $10 for every additional 10 megabytes
So definitely an improvement, but if you’re a frequent traveler, it’s still probably better to buy yourself an unlocked iPhone 4 and pick yourself up a pay-as-you-go SIM with data in your destination country.
