    I’m still with 2.8

    It is WAAAY better

thanks for posting about it, skype one of my favorite apps, I’ll download it now

I have to agree with Ciccio. 2.8 is much better but I do question the future of Skype. The time is ripe for another to step in and take their place.

I’m hoping Apple will step up with Facetime for Windows and further develop Facetime for Mac to add feature so that it will be a viable replacement for Skype. Maybe Apple will dedicate some of the processing capabilities built into its new data center for this. It would be possible for Apple to sew up online video chat the way it’s captured the iPhone, iPod and iPad markets.

im using 2.8 and I hate the gigantic window in new versions! it is pointless to update, because I’m not prepared to pay monthly fee for something like a screen sharing and group video chat.
Agree that apple should make facetime, ichat all in one, for osx, ios, and windows, by bye skype!!

Minor quibble, my version of 4.0.1 didn’t find the update automatically, I had to go to the site to download it manually.
