Here’s a little gem I found on the App Store this week. +Loop is a video recorder app for iDevices, but it stands out from the crowd because it records multiple mini video clips in one, and costs nothing.

The screen is divided into several smaller video players (nine by default, but you can adjust to suit your whim), and you can record a different clip inside each frame. Hold your finger down on a box to record it, and let go to stop. Tap once to play back.

Fill up all nine boxes, then hit export to send get a complete video file rendered and saved to your Photo Roll. Here’s a quick sample.

There are three recording modes: Full is sort-of auto, recording the whole view and creating the splits by playing them back at different times. Single records each video pane individually, as described above. Rearrange lets you drag around the panes you’ve recorded in Single mode.

The results are delightful, original, and fun. It’s not much good for capturing specifics or details of an event, but it’s great for capturing the mood or the atmosphere.

And: +Loop is free. Amazing. Go grab your copy now.
