Those of you who are yet to experience Team Fortress 2 are missing out… but you no longer have an excuse not to give it a go — Valve just made the game free to play… forever! That makes it easier than ever for you to come play with Cult of Mac!
TF2 is one of the most popular online action games of all time, and since it was first released four years ago, its developers have continued to maintain its appeal with over 200 updates; offering new game modes, new equipment, and new… hats?
That’s right — new hats. One of the things I love about Team Fortress 2 is the ability to create your own character, choosing from the hundreds of weapons and equipment that allow you to tweak your favorite class to suit your gameplay and personal taste.
You can now enjoy the entire game, including all nine character classes, maps, and all future updates, at no cost at all.

Valve will continue to make money from the game through in-app purchases and premium accounts, but you don’t have to purchase anything extra to enjoy this awesome title. Most of the content is unlocked as you play the game, but if you find you don’t have enough hats to choose from, you can purchase more.
If you only purchased Team Fortress 2 recently, don’t be too downhearted; those that paid for the game can now enjoy a special “Proof of Purchase” hat (again with the hats?) that proves you spent your hard earned cash on it.
