WeeTranslate Tweak Adds Google Translate to Notification Center in iOS 5

Since iOS 5 was released two weeks ago, jailbreak tweak developers have been hard at work creating third-party widgets that can be integrated into the new Notification Center. The latest is called WeeTranslate, and offers a quick and easy way to access Google Translate on your iPhone.

WeeTranslate adds a new widget to your Notification Center that sits alongside Apple’s existing Weather and Stocks offerings. It’s a simple tweak that offers one handy feature: to quickly translate text between English, French, Germain, Italian and Spanish.

Obviously you’ll need a jailbroken device running the iOS 5 beta to use WeeTranslate, which is available to download now from Cydia.

It’s little tweaks like this that demonstrate the possibilities of Notification Center widgets if Apple opens them up to third-party developers.

Let’s face it, as Americans and Canadians we only need Spanish and French. The rest of the languages are just Google showing off. lol
